The Spartan Artisan is a Michigan small business established in 2019. Originally formed to help fund additional projects and grow his love for woodworking, desire to purchase and gift his items grew as his skills developing and designing projects were augmented.

The Spartan Artisan strives to utilize Michigan-based small businesses as much as possible. Purchasing our Michigan-grown lumber from small, locally owned sources to having our beeswax shipped to us from the UP to craft our organic board conditioner, Michigan is The Spartan Artisan’s home and focus.

Aside from the occasional assistance with conditioning and design choice from Mrs. Spartan Artisan, every piece is worked from its usual rough-sawn beginning to the finished product by a single set of hands. We do not buy bulk finished boards from China and slap our name on them like many Etsy resellers. Hand-crafted and customization in Sparta, MI is our specialty.
